The Bastion is a multi-seat aircraft carrier with five anti-aircraft guns (three on top and two on the bottom), four ground guns with incredibly accurate aiming, and free aircraft for all squad members. The Bastion is crafted exclusively with squad resources earned by capturing bases.
The driver, in addition to controlling the Bastion, also controls the primary weapon, which bombs ground targets. The Bastion has a 1000-meter radius in all directions. To put this in perspective, this weapon can easily destroy an enemy base in two to three minutes. Sometimes, in an hour of flying as a Bastion driver, you can rack up 300 kills if fighters don't rush you, squad members are manning the guns, and friendly aircraft are flying around the Bastion.
How to destroy a Bastion:
You can destroy an aircraft carrier by destroying all the vulnerable spots at the bottom, top, and sides, which glow gold. An orbital strike on a bastion also automatically destroys one of its vulnerable points. If the carrier isn't destroyed, it will return to orbit after an hour.
A bastion is usually destroyed by a large air force, meaning fighters with default weapons and module-homing missiles, as well as liberators with tank boosters and Daltons. Once, both factions were so determined to blow up a bastion that they massed a large number of fighters, about forty in each group. After they blew it up together, an epic battle ensued in the sky between them; I've never seen so many fighters. And the bastion accomplished its mission, helping the allies capture the base over which the other two factions were battling each other in the air.
Furthermore, the enemy Colossus supertank will fire at the bastion from the ground. If you don't have enough people in your unit online to man the Bastion's guns and are flying solo, try to keep the Bastion near a large concentration of allied forces and provide support with your main gun, earning certificates. Otherwise, you could be taken apart by enemy fighters in just five minutes with the first wave.
How to create a Bastion:
To craft a Bastion, you need to build all of its modules in your unit's arsenal, one by one, if you have sufficient resources and the necessary permissions. Essentially, the hardest part of managing a Bastion is recruiting a squad of at least 12 people, at least your unit online, before launching. The hardest part is the preparation, because the more people manning the guns and flying around the carrier, the longer it will survive.
It's also worth mentioning that each faction can only have one active Bastion. Want to launch an aircraft carrier, but your faction already has one on the map? Wait your turn. If the bastion is crafted but you can't activate it from the terminal, it means you don't have the rights to launch it.
How to get to the bastion
If you see whose bastion is in the sky by its tag, you can join their unit and take control of the aircraft carrier's guns when auto-addition of new members is enabled! For example, we started flying a bastion with three people, and 40 minutes later we had 7-8! It's great for recruiting new members :)
Also, don't forget to apply a discount on aircraft at your faction's warpgate before launching the bastion. Or, if you don't have the funds, use your ant to build a base with free fighters and a large supply of cortnium. As soon as the carrier appears, people will try to grab a fighter from somewhere and fly to the bastion to fight. Therefore, preliminary preparation is more important than the launch and flight itself. Good luck!
